History

History of EGEHAYMER

Ege University Laboratory Animals Application and Research Center (EGEHAYMER) was established for the purpose of breeding, caring for, and using laboratory animals in research in an ethical, reliable manner compliant with scientific standards.

Our Center operates to provide researchers with the opportunity to work with experimental animals within the framework of international ethical rules, to support scientific projects, and to organize trainings in the field of experimental animals. Since its establishment, it has continued to contribute to academic studies with its modern infrastructure, advanced laboratory facilities, and expert staff.

With its technical infrastructure and service range expanding over the years, EGEHAYMER serves both researchers within Ege University and national and international scientists. With the various laboratory animals and advanced research facilities it houses, it enables the performance of experiments in accordance with ethical and scientific standards.

Since the day it was founded, in addition to providing support for scientific studies in the field of experimental animals, it has contributed to the competence of researchers by organizing the Experimental Animal Use Certificate Course, as well as various national and international workshops and seminars. In 2020, our Center was awarded the TS EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certificate and carries out all its activities within the scope of this standard.

EGEHAYMER continues its activities based on quality, ethics, and reliability in scientific research conducted with laboratory animals and continues to contribute to the world of science.
